Star Jalsha Makes a Successful foray into Non-fiction

Star Jalsha has always believed in providing content as per viewers’ choice and has always been very flexible and ground-breaking when it comes to offering fresh entertainment to its viewers. With three simultaneous launches on Sundays, Star Jalsha makes a successful foray into nonfiction too.

With new and unique nonfiction launches, Star Jalsha has again lived up to its brand philosophy of Chalo Paltai (Let’s Change). BHYABACHAKA (8pm-9pm Sundays), based on the popular format game show, Disturb from UK, was launched in Bengal for the first time, generating huge viewer interest and entertainment. EBAR JALSHA RANNAGHARE (7pm-7.30pm on Sundays) has all the necessary ingredients to make it a differentiated cookery show. It has set a new benchmark with Jalsha stars sharing unique recipes along with tips on latest fashion trends, breaking away from the set cookery show formats. I LAUGH U 3 on the other hand, is an old Star Jalsha format packaged in a new way with increased doze of laughter and entertainment. These shows, along with some of the fiction shows being extended to Sunday, have made Star Jalsha an ultimate destination for viewers in Bengal on Sundays, who now flock in plenty making Sundays at par with other days for Jalsha.

EBAR JALSHA RANNAGHARE continues to put up a great show and rises up the chart in BGE as the most successful nonfiction show, followed by the strong foothold of BHYABACHAKA and I LAUGH U 3.

With the astounding success of newly launched non-fiction shows, Star Jalsha got ever more aggressive about their non-fiction line up and has decided to come up with an array of non-fiction shows catering to their Sunday audience and providing advertisers yet another way to reach out to its viewers.  With the overwhelming success of EBAR JALSHA RANNAGHARE, Star Jalsha has decided to come with Festive Special EBAR JALSHA RANNAGHORE in a 60 minutes format during the festive months. Apart from mouthwatering recipes, this show will feature latest fashion trends, reputed designers & stylists giving makeovers to Jalsha leads, unplugged solo performances by top singers of Bengal, special episodes with celebrities from the tinsel town – providing viewers never before entertainment and new way for advertisers to tap the festive spending in Bengal.

Star Jalsha has also confirmed that they are coming up with yet another format driven game show. AMRA NA ORA, a la UK’s popular game show PUSH THE BUTTON, which will be produced by Fremantle. This will feature Star Jalsha shows’ families fighting it out to a fun game - again, living upto the Jalsha mantra of being the pioneer in BGE space in terms of new offerings.  Another big ticket nonfiction show too is lined up this quarter, to which Star Jalsha is yet to decide a title.

Official spokesperson of Star India stated, “It has been our constant endeavour to provide wholesome and differentiated entertainment for the entire family. We were always dominating the fiction space and now with the new nonfiction shows we have just made our offering even more varied and entertaining. The results are encouraging to say the least.” He added, “The successful nonfiction shows along with the extended fictions has made Jalsha a new destination for viewers on Sundays. Our recent success in nonfiction has made us even more committed to it and we have decided to come up with an array of new nonfictions that I am sure will go on to create new benchmarks in BGE.”
