Starcom India ropes in Rajiv Gopinath as Chief Client Officer

Rajiv Gopinath has come aboard as Chief Client Officer at Starcom India. Sources close to the development have confirmed the news. In this role, Gopinath will be driving growth, branded digital and shape the strategy product on key clients at Starcom India. 

This apart, Gopinath and the strategy team will work closely with Mallikarjunadas CR, Deepak Sharma, Gautam Surath, and Pallav Jain in shaping the group’s strategic product on six to seven key clients across Delhi and Mumbai. 

Gopinath started his career in 1997, working on the Unilever account at Fulcrum, before moving to head the Asian Paints AOR at Madison Media. He has worked in two international markets apart from India. 

He headed planning on the P&G account at Mediacom in China (2011-2014) and later in East Africa (2014-2017), he was MD of Mediacom handling Coca-Cola, P&G and other local businesses across 7 Sub-Saharan African markets. Prior to his International stints, he headed Madison Media’s South Operations and part of its North Operations. 

Starcom India has had a strong run on new businesses across the last two years and the team is looking to keep up the momentum. The company also intends to further build its branded digital narrative predicated on the pillars of screen neutrality and reach. The growth and branded digital teams will roll up and report to Gopinath.
