StrawberryFrog enters Indian market with huge expectations!

World's first ‘cultural movement’ agency, StrawberryFrog, a New York based agency has finally made it’s entry into the Indian market. Founded in Amsterdam in 1999 by Swede Karin Drakenberg and Scott Goodson, StrawberryFrog, an innovative global agency, develops strategic vision and creative solutions that create growth for their clients. Their decision of stepping in the Indian market was long awaited since the announcement that was made way back in 2009. Having some well-known global brands in their kitty, the agency is not unknown in the Indian market and has earlier worked with some renowned Indian brands.

Raj Kamble has been appointed as the Managing Partner for its India business. Prior to this Kamble was with BBH India, the UK-based Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) Network’s local arm. He moved out of BBH India in January this year.

Adgully caught up with the current Managing Partner, Raj Kamble to know more about the agency’s recent foray into the Indian market.

On his association with StrawberryFrog, Kamble said, “I have been looking for something new and unique since a long time and this was the right place to get associated with as the agency has always been seen doing different and exceptional work. Taking over as a Managing Partner for its Indian arm is more or less turning into an entrepreneur with this agency. We all have a strong feeling that it will work quite well in India.”

Though Kamble refused to talk about the numbers in terms of investments, he said that they would be participating in the pitches and would focus towards creating a culture for the brands.
When asked about tie-ups he said, “Nothing as of now but we are always open for new, fresh and unique ideas. We would love to dwell with more partners but not agencies.”
While signing off, Kamble made a point saying that StrawberryFrog is a new age hybrid agency and his whole and sole motive is to make it ‘the happiest’ place to work rather than making it a profitable one.

Raj has worked in Mumbai, London and New York and has won multiple awards including Clios, Cannes, D&AD and One Show.| By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal@adgully.com]
