Sun TV Network Q3 FY20 subscription revenues up 18% at Rs 411.85 cr

Sun TV Network, which operates TV channels across four languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad Cricket Franchise of the Indian Premier League, has reported a slight increase in its revenues (excluding income from movie distribution) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2019, to Rs 799.29 crore as against Rs 795.95 crore for the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. 

The subscription revenues for Q3 FY2020 were up by ~18 per cent at Rs 411.85 crore, as against Rs 349.60 crore for Q3 FY2019. 

The Profit Before Taxes for the quarter ended December 31, 2019 was at Rs 498.46 crore as against Rs 542.00 crore for Q3 FY2019. The Profit After Taxes (PAT) for the current quarter grew by ~6 per cent at Rs 373.45 crore as against Rs 351.33 crore for Q3 FY2019. After accounting for the other comprehensive income (net of taxes), the Total Comprehensive Income for Q3 FY2020 was up ~6 per cent at Rs 373.26 crore as against Rs 351.39 crore for the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. 

The Earnings Per Share for the current quarter grew by ~6 per cent at Rs 9.48 as against Rs 8.92 for Q3 FY2019.
