Sun TV Q2 FY2010 revenues up 6% at Rs 795.58 crore

Sun TV Network has reported a ~6 per cent increase in its revenues at Rs 795.58 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2019, as against Rs 749.55 crore for the corresponding quarter last fiscal. The total income for the quarter ended also was higher by ~7 per cent at Rs 867.72 crore, as against Rs 811.67 crore in Q2 FY2019. 

Sun TV Network operates satellite television channels across four languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, airs FM radio stations across India and owns the SunRisers Hyderabad cricket franchise of the Indian Premier League. 

The subscription revenue for the quarter was up by ~17 per cent at Rs 397.31 crore, as against Rs 339.79 crore for the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2018. EBITDA for Q2 FY2020 stood at Rs 468.74 crore, compared to Rs 553.97 crore for Q2 of the last fiscal. 

Profit after taxes for the current quarter stood at Rs 366.51 crore, an increase of ~4 per cent over Rs 351.32 crore reported for Q2 FY2019. After accounting for the other comprehensive income (net of taxes), the total comprehensive income for the quarter ended September 30, 2019 was up ~4 per cent at Rs 366.29 crore, as against Rs 351.38 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
