Sunil Dutt quits Samsung; to join HP as VP & Country Head

After serving Samsung India as Country Head for their Mobile Business, Sunil Dutt is quitting the business house and is already serving his notice period, October 31, 2009 being his last day in office. Dutt is moving to Hewlett Packard and will take up the position of VP and Country Head for Personal Systems Group.

Media reports stated Dutt as saying that he leaves Samsung with a "satisfying experience' and feels glad that he the company is going to be handled by very capable hands.

Dutt wanted to explore fresh and challenging opportunities hence the move to HP. He was reported as saying that there is an immense amount he can learn about an industry that is new to him and since HP is the leader in this sphere, the move is well justified.

Previously, Dutt has been associated at a corporate level with respected brands like Nokia, Barista, Whirlpool, Wipro and Philips. His associations speak aloud of his commitment to the company. While he spent five and a half years with Nokia and one year with Barista prior to that; he spent five years with Whirlpool and four and a half years with Wipro. Dutt also spent a long span of eight years at Philips.
