Suresh Menon & Barkha Bisht make a comeback on TV with Sony SAB’s

For an entire generation that has grown up on the scheming mothers-in-laws and cunning sisters-in-laws slipping salt in the tea instead of sugar, watching the entertaining comedy shows on Sony SAB is surely refreshing. And, the channel’s latest announcement of bringing back the 90’s series, ‘Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se’ on primetime has audiences eagerly waiting for the start of the popular series in its new avatar.
Premiering on 13th March at 7.30 pm, the 90’s comedy series on Doordarshan that ruled on television, Shrimaan Shrimati, and featured Late Reema Lagoo, Late Jatin Kanakia, Archana Puran Singh and Rakesh Bedi will be seen as an all new series, ‘Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se’ on Sony SAB with an all new cast.

The gorgeous Barkha Bisht, popularly known for playing pivotal roles on Indian television, will be seen enacting the role of Doll (Prema) in the show while ace comedian, Suresh Menon, will be seen playing the role of Dilruba. The character of Doll is a sweet, elegant, and a self- obsessed girl who believes in perfection while being the opposite of her is Dilruba, a sweet, innocent guy has a soft corner for his neighbour’s wife. Barkha and Suresh’s talent and versatility in portraying characters with different shades like Doll & Dilruba will surely add to the fun quotient in the series.

Talking about her character, Barkha Bisht (Doll) said,” I am really excited to be a part of this brilliant show. The role that was originally played by Archana Puran Singh is so perfect that I just want to play it as perfectly as Archana did. I accepted this show as it is my first comedy show and I am really waiting to perform in this difficult genre of making audiences laugh and hope, they love my work as always.”

Talking about his character Dilruba, Suresh Menon said,” The role of Dilruba was originally portrayed by popular actor Rakesh Bedi. He has set such high standards and made the role so challenging, that reaching the benchmark he created for the character in the show is a little tough. Dilruba is a cute character who gets stuck in interesting situations all times because of his romantic interests.”
