Fox Traveller Diaries caught up with Somdeb Basu, Brand Director, Reebok India, to explore more and see how he makes his journey fun.

Fox Traveller Diaries (FTD): If there is one place you can keep going back to for a holiday, where would it be?

Somdeb Basu (SB): Serene water bodies

FTD: Tell us three good things about travelling.

SB: Let's me explore a new place, explore a new culture, new people and try out local cuisine.

FTD: When you travel, what is a must carry for you?

SB: Camera and a notepad

FTD: When and where did your best holiday happen?

SB: My honeymoon in the backwaters!

FTD: As a traveller, what’s your tip for the others?

SB: Switch off work and silly day-to-day stuff, enjoy the moments you are in.

FTD: A colleague/co-worker from your industry with whom you would like to go on a holiday.

SB: I would only like to holiday with my girlfriend, who also happens to b my wife :).

FTD: Have you ever been surprised by the taste of food, outside India? Where?

SB: I have been pleasantly surprised by taste of food in china, Hong Kong, Boston.

FTD: What and where has been your best bazaar bargain so far?

SB: It's an irony that I bargain well at work but I am very bad at bargaining in my personal life. So I do not try that too often.

FTD: Which has been the most unique destination that you ever visited. When and why?

SB: It was in Hawaii on top of a lava mountain with fumes being generated from it, sea on one side...

FTD: Tell us how have you managed to make a journey fun.

SB: Cracking funny jokes with co-passengers!

FTD: What has been your worst travel moment? Why?

SB: I missed my flight in spite of reaching airport in time at Phoenix, USA leading to a chain reaction of cancelled flights and messed up itinerary. Reason - there were random detailed item-by-item checks of hand baggage by the concerned authorities there.

FTD: What is the best souvenir you ever bought for anyone?

SB: A basket full of different exotic sea shells from Hawaii.
