TapRoot & Contract win at the prestigious Intercontinental Advertising Cup

TapRoot India and Contract Advertising have put their names on the winners' list of the prestigious Intercontinental Advertising Cup (ICAC).

TapRoot India's campaign for Conqueror Papers and Contract's work for Sanctuary Magazine bagged the honours.

The Conqueror Papers campaign before this has won a gold and a silver at Cannes, and also made an impactful presence at Clio, Spikes Asia and AdFest. At ICAC the campaign won The Cup in the Best of Admaking category (Best of Craft).

In the campaign, colourful sheets of papers were rolled up on a board, capturing the various aspects of India.

Commenting on the win, Santosh Padhi, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder, TapRoot India, tells Adgully, "It was very important for India to make our mark in these categories. Moreover as craft is an important part of each and every ad (be it any medium). Though we have done far better than what we were in the area of craft, I feel baring few pieces of work we do not insist on detailing when it comes to craft. As more and more of our ideas are losing on craft, on the other hand the world is producing some other level of craft year after year and we just helplessly adapt them, so I am happy to contribute in an area that makes the country look good on the global platform"

He further adds, "The work which won has also recently has made it to the Archive illustration annual cover page which is features world's best 200 illustrations, which also happens to be the first time a Indian ad has been put on a annul archive cover. Its a great feeling to win amongst the best of the best in the world, to compete with other gold winners of the world and beat them on a global level is any day a great feeling for us at TapRoot India."

Established in 2007, ICAC is represented by regional advertising festivals - Asia-Pacific's AdFest, Ibero-American FIAP, New European's Golden Drum and Art Director's Club of Europe (ADC*E). Shortlisted entries from these participating regional festivals gain exclusive rights to enter into the intercontinental advertising selection.

All The Cup finalists are pre-selected by regional juries whose members come from regional festivals. Ex-Leo Burnett Chief Michael Conrad has developed the judging process. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
