The Auction of Spectrum in 2015 in 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz Bands Continues

37 Rounds of Bidding Completed at the End of Day 6

The Auction of Spectrum in 2100 MHz, 1800 MHz, 900 MHz and 800 MHz Bands re- commenced today at 09.00 A.M. and today 6 rounds of bidding were completed. Till now, 37 rounds of bidding has taken place.

The bidding is taking place in all bands. Brisk bidding was seen on 6th day of bidding, with activity requirement set at 100%. There was activity in two new service areas in 1800 MHz band. There is a shift in activity from 2100 MHz  and 900 MHz bands to 1800 MHz and 800 MHz bands. At present, over 83% of the spectrum has been provisionally allocated to bidders at a value of approximately Rs. 92,200 crores. Majority of service areas are going at a premium over reserve price. With 100% activity requirement and activity in new service areas, competitive bidding is expected to continue. There is still spectrum, which is yet to be sold. Bidding recommenced yesterday.
