The Hindu’s STEP launches STEPathon

STEP (Standardized Test of English Proficiency), from The Hindu Group, has launched a new and innovative online English learning programme called STEPathon, inspired by training programmes for marathons. In those programmes, participants make vast improvements in their physical abilities through an intense, focused and personalised training. STEPathon aims to achieve results with English proficiency through an intense, focused and structured programme that is tailored to each learner’s needs. In 40 days, working an hour a day, learners are expected to improve their STEP score by 1-2 points. The programme will address all dimensions of English proficiency such as reading, writing, listening and speaking.

To apply for an invite to the STEPathon, visit www.mystepathon.com and take a free test. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be notified by March 12, 2017 via e-mail.

The Standardized Test of English Proficiency (STEP) is an English language testing, training and certification programme launched by The Hindu Group in 2016.  The product was envisioned to meet the English language skill requirements of industry and to improve employability of Indian youth, particularly in tier-2-tier-3 cities and rural areas. Our mission is to make high quality English language learning economical and accessible to all by using advanced technology and world-class training practices. STEP’s tests and training programmes will help students, institutions, and employers access and improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Since its inception, over 1.2 lakh individuals have taken the STEP and have benefited from its programmes online, through the STEP Android mobile application and at campuses around the country. STEP aims to do its part in the Skill India, Digital India, Start-up India and Make in India missions.
