The Institute of Advertising, Singapore (IAS) to present the APPIES 2011

The Institute of Advertising, Singapore (IAS) will be presenting the APPIES 2011 ' Asia Pacific Marketing Congress, for the second year running. This year, the congress will be held at the National University of Singapore (NUSS) on 28 and 29 July 2011.

Supported by over 30 of Asia Pacific's top marketers, the APPIES 2011 is a leading edge marketing congress for marketers that aims to celebrate the very best in marketing communications. It will be featuring more than 100 of the region's best marketing campaigns from 13 countries that consist of some of the world's most recognised brands that include Adidas, Heineken, Hewlett Packard, Nestle, PepsiCo, Proctor and Gamble, Singtel and Unilever.

"As a creative showcase of some of the best people and campaigns within the Asia Pacific region, the APPIES is very much in line with IAS's new mission ' To drive innovation in marketing communications," says Terry O'Connor, President of IAS and CEO of Courts Asia. "It is an excellent platform for exchanging expertise and knowledge while having a looking glass into the region's top campaigns."

Carefully selected by an Advisory Council, headed by Goh Shu Fen, Chairman of The APPIES and the Co-Founder & Principal of R3, all 100 of the marketing campaigns to be presented at the APPIES have been chosen for having attained the Gold Standard in marketing and at the same time, each must have also demonstrated excellence in planning, implementation and effectiveness.

Representing 6 broad categories ' Food & Beverage, Non-Food FMCG, Consumer Durables, Consumer Services, Business Services and Pro-Bono/Government/Cultural ' these 100 marketing campaigns will be presented to the region's delegates via a unique and challenging platform: A summary of the campaign's strategy, ideas and execution in a 4-minute video, followed by a 6-minute "live' disposition before rounding off the session with a 10-minute dialogue with the audience who are marketing experts in their own rights.

"As each marketing campaign will be assessed and scored by a group of independent moderators and assessors that is made up of industry experts, it is very high recognition indeed for the campaign that scores the highest," explains Ms Goh. "More than just recognition, the high quality and variety of the presentations showcased at the APPIES also present a great opportunity for learning and inspiration. Based on last year's inaugural congress, we have seen some very insightful exchanges between the audience and the presenters that have resulted in powerful revelations."

The APPIES 2011 will also feature keynote presentations that will provide further insights for all the participants on the industry's latest trends and concerns over the 2-day congress. This year's keynote speakers include:

"Mobile Consumer: Global Trends, Local Impact" by Yuen Kwan Moon, Executive Vice President, Digital Consumer Group of Singtel

"Through the presentation of Asia's best marketing efforts at the congress, combined with interesting keynote presentations and interactive panel discussions with some of the region's most distinguished marketers, I am certain that all the participants of the APPIES will be able to gain much insights and key learnings that will go a long way towards developing effective marketing and driving ROI within their own organisations," conclude Mr. O'Connor.
