The Kapil Sharma Show goes off air, for now

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, which has been marred with problems ever since the very public fight between Kapil Sharma and his fellow comedian Sunil Grover mid-flight following which Grover and some other members of the show quit, is now taking a ‘short break’.

Rumours have been doing the rounds regarding the show being taken off air and replaced by another comedy show on Sony, ‘The Drama Company’. It may be recalled that Sony had renewed its partnership with Kapil Sharma for the show for one more year in August 2017.

With regards to the latest rumours doing the rounds on ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, Sony Entertainment Television has issued an official statement that stated: “Kapil has been under the weather for some time now. Due to which, we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However, once Kapil has recovered completely, we will start shooting once again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.”

The latest person to quit the show is actress Upasana Singh, who has joined rival show ‘The Drama Company’.

Quite a few episodes of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ had to be cancelled owing to Sharma’s ill health. The latest episode to be cancelled was a few days back in which Ajay Devgn and the crew from his upcoming film ‘Baadshaho’ were to appear.
