The Kraft Heinz Company launches 'Mobile Medical Unit'

The Indian affiliate of The Kraft Heinz Company in partnership with Stop Hunger Now, a non-profit organisation and Society for Action in Community Health launched a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) service on 2nd September in Kalajore Village, belonging to Baunsi Block in Banka District, Bihar. The launch was presided over by the Hon.Minister Shri.Giriraj Singh, Minister of State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India.

The MMU service has been introduced to provide access to reliable and affordable healthcare facilities to people in the remote areas of India. Many parts of rural India suffer from inadequate primary healthcare services leading to adverse health conditions amongst people.

The Kraft Heinz Company is committed to improving quality of health by producing top line nutritious and energizing food products for its consumers. Through this initiative, Kraft Heinz further strengthens this resolve towards the society at large.

The MMUs - equipped with a mini lab, ECG and drugs for their care, aim to tackle this issue by bringing professional healthcare to the individual’s doorsteps.
With the larger aim of being able to reach out to 25000 people by 2016, the Mobile Medical Unit service in Bihar’s Kalajore village is the first step towards making healthcare more accessible.
