The Prameya largest circulated Odia daily: Odisha govt

The Prameya is the largest circulated Odia daily as per the annual report of Directorate of Advertising and Visua l Publicity (DAVP).

This was told by Minister for Information and Public Relations Raghunandan Das in the Odisha Assembly on Thursday in response to the question of BJP MLA Mohan Charan Majhi. Das tabled the statistical data based on DAVP's annual report.Das told 'The Prameya' is the largest circulated Odia daily in the state. DAVP has certified that Prameya has a circulation of over 4,27,519 copies a day.

However, The Prameya being the largest circulated daily, it has not received proportionate amount of government advertisements as compared to The Sambad, which ranks the second position with having daily circulation of over 3,70,205 copies. The state government has released more advertisements in Sambad. According to official sources, Sambad has received government advertisement worth Rs 3,48,77,467 in the last six months.On the other hand, The Prameya has received government advertisement worth Rs 3,41,68,546 during the same period.

The Dharitri ranks the third position with a daily circulation of over 3,27,000 copies and The Samaja ranks the forth position with 3,23,938.While Dharitri received government advertisement worth Rs 2,91,18,706, Samaja received worth Rs 3,05,08,118 in the last six months.

Prameya is headquartered in Bhubaneshwar with editions in Berhampur, Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Jeypur, Kendrapada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Rourkela. It has five weekly supplements called Siksha, Rabibar, Swasthya, Dharma & Juhar. As per the IRS 2019 Q4 Prameya has 36.21 Lakh Total Readers
