The Promo Of 'All About Section 377' Will Give You Goosebumps!

Section 377 has been the most talked about topic off late and finally the hearing is going to take place tomorrow. It is a big day for the supporters of section 377. Just while we are a day away from the verdict, Director Amit Khanna, who had directed ‘Tutiya Dil’ and ‘Badmashiyaan’, has served the starter of his menu which is a whole new set of web series called ‘All About Section 377’.  The promo is out now and it reflects the joys and sorrows of people who have different sexual preferences and how they cope up with the society.

‘All About section 377’ is written and directed by Amit Khanna who is also an ace photographer who has shot the who’s who of the television industry. The web series consists of eight episodes which is produced by Weirdoze and the Creative Gypsy. It features Gulshan Nain who played the lead in Channel V’s Show ‘Friends Conditions Apply’, Ankit Bhatia, Mustafa Shaikh and Amit Khanna himself as well who marks his acting debut.

The promo is catchy, and definitely leaves a strong message by planting a serious thought in the minds of every individual. The promo will definitely hit hard to a lot of Homophobic people and their phobia just might come to an end.

Amit Khanna who has really put his heart and soul in this series said, “The existence of Section 377 itself is frightening. How does someone else get to decide how, when and who, one should love? Basically the right of ‘freedom of choice’ isn't legal anymore..."

Apart from the concept of the series, what is interesting to see is that celebrities like Niranjan Iyengar, Iris Maity and Suzanna Mukherjee will be seen in cameos.

Karan Johar From DDLJ Days Is Here, And He's As Talented As The Multi-Tasker Himself

Who would have thought that the choice to love someone would not lie with an individual but would be governed by a law? Section 377 has set tongues wagging and unless you've been living under a rock you would know that the Supreme Court on Tuesday agreed to hear the curative petition filed by NGO Naz Foundation, seeking to reverse the apex court’s earlier judgement upholding Section 377, which makes gay sex a criminal offence. The court has now referred the matter to a five-judge bench.

Even though this hearing, could be the shining pot of gold at the end of the rainbow for the LGBT community, their fight is far from over! How can the government even think of curtailing the democratic rights of such a large section of our population? If you are asking yourself this question, you are not alone. Thankfully, there has been an overwhelming response from people across India to abolish this archaic law.Notably, the loveable and highly evolved, Karan Johar, among several other brave souls, has vehemently taken to social media to protest this outdated law. His tweets dating back to 2013 prove just that -

For all those who think that this judgement gives them a right to talk about their self appointed machoism...GET A LIFE!!!

And then he tweeted some more –

Cast creed color or your orientation cannot and should not alienate you....support it if you believe that....

On 2nd February, he once again took to Twitter and wrote “Yes there is hope...and I hope the hope is validated with the just and correct verdict....#Article377”

At a recent event he also spoke about his struggles as a child and the difficulties he faced while growing up because of being called “pansy”. He talked about his parents being his biggest support system. “Even when I weighed 150 kg, my mother said I was the best looking child in the world and my father told me that once I lost a little puppy fat, I can be a hero in Hindi films.”

Sadly, this kind of stereotyping is not uncommon. A sentiment expressed recently in the light and fun web-series titled “All About Sec 377.” Director, Amit Khanna,  examines the trials and tribulations in the life of an overweight, gay man played by Amit himself. The web series takes a light-hearted look at a gay couple’s life as seen from the perspective of a straight, homophobic man. It then focuses on graver issues regarding Article 377 and its implications for the homosexual community.

And curiously, Amit Khanna, resembles none other than our outspoken director, Karan Johar! Not only is he also a writer and director by profession, but also, if you were to use the Aging Booth App on Khanna, he would look eerily like Karan Johar. And he talks like him too! Considering his own issues with weight, we're sure he feels a certain kinship with Karan!

Amit Khanna Conceptualizes A 'Quirky' Photoshoot For The Unique Cast Of Sunny Leone, Alok Nath & Deepak Dobriyal

Amit Khanna, who is known for being multi-talented having ventured into the fields of direction, photography, writing & acting, has set another milestone in his career by directing the most unique cast of the Hottie Sunny Leone, Nation's Babuji Alok Math & the comical genius of 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' Deepak Dobriyal.

The Ad that gets these distinct actors together is for an Anti-Smoking campaign, far more captivating than the usual theatrical Anti-Smoking ads we assume, whose stills have been shot by one of India's most influential photographers Amit Khanna with a twist of comedy.

Amit Khanna said, "It was great working with the unique cast of Sunny, Deepak and Alok ji on this shoot. Moreover, the cause is important to me as I feel Smoking is the worst way to end your life. It's like committing suicide gradually. Not only does it pollute your life but the environment as well".

According to sources, Sunny Leone plays a Haryanvi character for the first time in her career while Deepak Dobriyal will be seen on the death bed and the surprise package would be none other than Alok Nath twisting the plot.

With a combination like this, the Ad is going viral & tickling the funny bones of one & all!
