The Telegraph forays in Assam, strengthens its eastern market

THE TELEGRAPH, published by Ananda Publishers and is linked with the group ABP Limited, enters new market in a move to expand and reach wider audiences. The publication will be initiated in Upper Assam with its first edition today on 1st September 2010.

The printing of the publication will be from Jorhat at the Dainik Janabhoomi press. This publication will have 14 pages as the main edition along with 4 pages of local news. There will also be special interest supplements on various days of the week. On weekdays, the cover price is positioned at Rs. 4 and Rs. 5 on Sundays.

"The idea of launch is to consolidate our north east presence as this launch will ensure morning availability of the telegraph in upper Assam and Nagaland", said Dhruba Mukherjee, GM, The Telegraph.

Initiatives at THE TELEGRAPH are always customized based on the various reader segments which are based on age, lifestyle, gender and occupation. Also being an established publication, their intensity of the initiatives is greater in older markets when compared to the new markets. These also give them an edge over competition.

The Telegraph in the past has taken up initiatives to intensify their reach with their recent debut in Orissa and Bihar earlier this year.

The Telegraph was founded on July 7, 1982. It is certified to be the fastest growing daily in eastern India by Audit Bureau of Circulations. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
