There is no setback to cinema due to the rise of OTT: Rashmika Mandanna

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has become a household name with her latest outing, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. The film starred her alongside Allu Arjun and the duo was loved by fans.

In an exclusive interaction with Adgully, Rashmika spoke about the response she has received after the tremendous success of ‘Pushpa’ and said, “I feel really blessed and happy on the massive success and the humongous response from audiences from all across the country towards ‘Pushpa’. I really thank my fans for showering so much love to the film and Srivalli (Rashmika’s character in the film). We just tried to do justice to the story and the character, and that has worked well.”

Speaking about whether the rise of OTT has been a setback for theaters that are already reeling under the impact of pandemic, she said, “I feel both OTT and theatres can today co-exist beautifully. There is no setback to cinema due to it. While cinema has always been beloved and will continue to be so, the OTT platforms are helping more and content to reach to newer and untapped audience, even globally.”

Recently, the actress collaborated with Vicks for their new video. Speaking about the collaboration, Rashmika said, “Vicks is a brand which we all have been using since our childhood. It brings back that strong nostalgia of how our mothers used to use Vicks as a home remedy for cold and cough, and is now used in almost every household. That strong connect that the brand has in the country made me want to sign up for them.”

Sharing her health mantra that one can do using Vicks, she said, “One can rub Vicks VapoRub on chest to treat cold and cough. It can also be rubbed directly over the muscles to treat muscle ache. I regularly use Vicks VapoRub for steam inhalation to fight off cough and cold symptoms.”
