This new “Professional Baraati” Service is making waves on Social Media

One of India’s premier wedding services platform, WedMeGood launched a unique April Fool’s campaign promising a new service that allows to-be-married couples and families to curate their own baraat and baraatis to suit their taste. The hilarious prank let users believe that they could choose packages to ensure their baraat is memorable- right from hiring baraatis who excel at Punjabi boliyan to cute as a button sarvalas, acrobats and fire dancers or model like groomsmen to get the party started.

The prank turned out to be a huge success, and in the first hour of being live, WedMeGood got 100 + requests for hiring professional baraatis. Beyond this, the portal received numerous requests from people who actually wanted to sign up as professional baraatis , viewing it as a legitimate job opening.

WedMeGood takes its April Fools Pranks quite seriously. Last year they introduced “WedMeGulp” a bridal energy drink which over 1000+ brides signed up to purchase and the year before they managed to convince the public that the TajMahal could be a sangeet venue option. These creative initiatives have ensured that they have a highly engaged audience of brides and grooms to be , resulting in an organic social media presence spanning over  1.5 million people.
