Uday (Nana Patekar), a ruthless mafia don wants to get his kindhearted sister, Sanjana (Katrina Kaif) married, but is unsuccessful to do so. It is then Uday's associate, Majnu (Anil Kapoor), takes it upon himself to find a suitable match for Sanjana. Things get complicated when Uday meets the handsome Rajiv (Akshay Kumar) and is convinced that the latter would be an appropriate match for Sanjana. But, Rajiv’s uncle, Dr. Ghunghroo (Paresh Rawal) isn’t too thrilled about an alliance with notorious criminals.

Meanwhile, Sanjana, who is totally unaware of her brother's plans, also meets Rajiv separately and they fall in love. She has the acceptance of Dr. Ghunghroo who is unaware of the fact that she is Uday’s sister. When Dr. Ghunghroo realizes his faux pas, he decides against the marriage.

Will Sanjana and Rajiv ever get married?  Will they have a happy ending?
