TikTok uses AR to recreate its unique user-experience offline

TikTok, world’s leading short-video platform, has created an innovative and unique offline opportunity for its users to add extra happiness this festive season. TikTok had set up an Augmented Reality (AR) driven experience zone at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj in New Delhi, where the users could create short-form creative Diwali greetings using an interactive screen set up in the mall and share it with their family and friends. This was a part of TikTok’s festive Diwali campaign #TikTokDiwali.

Once the user entered the experience booth, they were given 10 seconds to create a GIF on a pre-recorded audio, along with the specially designed filters for Diwali. The screen offered multiple festive related filters and traditional clothing options, in order to make a Diwali greeting. Once the GIF was ready, it was sent to the user for sharing it with their TikTok community and friends across platforms. The experience zone was a unique venue for users to explore the traditional outfit change options, marking this activation as an exclusive venue using the technology.

The initiative received an overwhelming response from the TikTok users and mall visitors as the users got a never-before chance to create innovative Diwali greetings and add more fervour to the festive season. TikTok also recently announced its collaboration with GoIbibo under the campaign, #TikTokDiwali. As part of the celebrations, users with the most creative greetings will win rewards ranging from goCash+ to domestic and international travel packages provided by GoIbibo.
