Times NOW being switched off across Hathway networks- Chrome Data Report

The recent case of Times NOW being switched off across Hathway networks may end up with the viewer being the ultimate loser.

According to data sourced from Chrome Data Analytics & Media, in All India 1 million+ market, the number of households getting Times NOW is expected to drop by 33% of households of Hathway subscribers which had the channel available the previous week.

In places where the channel has not been removed, the LCN has been degraded, for 50% of the households of Hathway subscribers, resulting in the channel being placed outside the genre, with the wrong neighbourhood. In contrast, Republic TV has had its LCN upgraded in 40% of the current households of Hathway’s subscriber base.

The aforementioned changes of availability of the channels might have an impact of 10% drop for Times NOW and 13% increase for Republic TV in terms of viewership, however, for the impact on Reach, there could be a 7% drop for Times NOW and a 7.5% gain for Republic TV for 1 million+ market, having TG of 22+ Male.
