timtara.com starts self managed logistics service for faster delivery

timtara.com, India's true online retailer, has made a major breakthrough in the online retailing business with the launch of an independent and self managed logistics service exclusively for its customers. Now, the shopping portal will not only source the best of products and deals for its customers, but also deliver them, thereby maintaining the consistent high levels of quality and service.

With the launch of its very own delivery and logistics service timtara.com became India's only and first e-commerce portal to offer services from the point of origin to the point of consumption.

In just a few days of the launch of the services, timtara.com is breaking records by delivering within few hours of order placement in the NCR area. The online retailer has gone beyond 'same day delivery' to deliveries within half a day in the NCR.

Speaking on the occasion, Arindam Bose, Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer, timtara, said, "The core philosophy of timtara has been to delight our customers with our services. Since our launch in April this year, we have tried to address the "perception' issue of buying online by empowering consumers and giving them an experience which is bound to delight them. Based on constant feedback from our customers, we have decided to take that experience a step ahead by offering them the same quality and earnestness through our own delivery and logistics services."

The retail portal has started the delivery mechanism in the NCR from September 15, 2010 onwards and will be extending the services across India.

"We plan to set up our own delivery and logistics mechanisms across all major cities in India. As of now we are looking at reaching out to 20 Tier I and II cities in the next quarter," added Bose.

timtara.com works on a technology that is not only functional but behavioral and is inspired by offline behavior, creating an experience around shopping. With the launch of its own delivery and logistics services the online retailer will ensure an extension to its promise of "bound to delight'.
