TKSS is not going off air; Sony & Kapil Sharma renew contract for 1 year

Putting to rest all the recent speculations, Sony Entertainment Television and Kapil Sharma have renewed their partnership for ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. The contract has been extended for a year.

There have been various reports in the media about the channel considering pulling the show off air owing to its falling TRPs. Media has also been rife with news regarding Kapil’s falling health, which has even resulted in cancellation of the shooting of a couple of episodes and also about his busy shooting schedule for his film ‘Firangi’.

As per a section of the media, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ might be in for a revamp to infuse some freshness in the show.

In a statement issued, Danish Khan, EVP and Head, Sony Entertainment Television, said, “‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ brings smiles to millions of viewers every weekend nights across the globe. Kapil is an extraordinary talent and we are delighted to have further cemented our relationship with extension of this contract. We are confident that the show and its talented cast will continue to enthrall the audiences across the globe.”

Adding to this, Kapil Sharma said, “I am deeply touched by the warmth and love the audience has showered on us over the years. It’s their belief and undying devotion that encourages us to continue to reinvent ourselves and bring smiles to every household week on week. I am grateful to Sony Entertainment Television for believing in me and our show and supporting us in creating and bringing unlimited entertainment to every household every weekend.”

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ will continue to air every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
