The need for efficient and dynamic leaders has never been more important than now, as India transforms and makes her imprint on the world stage. Because the employment market is so volatile and there is severe attrition across the board, spotting and developing good leader potential has always been a struggle for most organisations. A company’s growth might be slowed by a loss of intellectual capital. As a result, organisations all over the world have enormous difficulties in keeping and cultivating new leaders. Those organisations or businesses that do not groom and retain their leaders will fall behind.

The inaugural edition of Adgully’s Leader 2.0 2022, which was held on Monday, January 24, 2022, showcased some of the leading names from different sectors who have paved their own way and have been leading their organisations to newer and greater heights.

Speaking on ‘New Leaders, New Opportunities and New world’, Ajay Kakar, CMO, Aditya Birla Group, said, “Within my generation, I have seen how an STD booth was the tech through which we reached out to speak to people. It’s not very far back that we use private telephones to reach out to people and communicate with them. However, today, if you see there are so many screens and multi-tasking that have become a way of life. Life has changed organically, but at a very rapid pace within the same generation that I referred to. I don’t look at this as the new world, because I’m looking or imagining a new world which is like how will it be to communicate on Mars and how will it be to live there. When we’re talking about this, it is a huge change, and this is the kind of change that Covid has made us experience, and this is the kind of change that is going to drive the future. While it is going to be a dramatic change, there won’t be any change in the attributes of leadership – whatever be the time phase or the change in the environment, a leader will have to be a person with a vision.”

Adding further, he said, “Whatever be the timeframe, whatever be the context, a leader will have to have the power to influence people, and today the world of influence has increased dramatically. It is about influencing the influencers, it is influencing the regulators. Thus, a leader no longer has to just lead his people, he has to lead and yield influence over a wide spectrum of people and that is not going to change.”
