Tourism New Zealand eyes on Indian corp. travellers; partners with Centrum

Tourism New Zealand recently co-hosted two corporate evenings with the Centrum Group in Bangalore and Mumbai highlighting New Zealand as a Business Events destination.

Centrum Group is one of the agents appointed under the Business Events Tourism Industry Partnership Programme launched by Tourism New Zealand and Immigration New Zealand to help streamline the visa process for corporates travelling to New Zealand for Business Events.

Speaking about the initiative, David Craig, General Manager Asia, Tourism New Zealand said, “India has shown great potential for international travel in the last few years and it is one of our priority markets from the South and South East Asia region. We have seen a steady increase in interest for New Zealand amongst Indian corporate travellers and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 is an ideal time for them to experience the best of the destination.”

Sriram Rajmohan, Director – Centrum Group, said “We have been in the business of creating wealth for our clients and through our travel entities, we are offering them some interesting options to spend their money wisely and rejuvenate. And what better way than spending time in the beautiful country of New Zealand. Our collaboration with Tourism New Zealand works well and is in line with their market objectives as well”.

Tourism New Zealand has seen strong growth of 19.1% for the year ended October 2014 from India, with 36,144 tourist arrivals from India of which 17,248 were holiday arrivals.
