Travel light and try to enjoy the local settings: Jabong's Sinha

Praveen Sinha has played a fundamental role in establishing Jabong.com as a brand. In his current role at Jabong.com, he is a Co- Founder and a Managing Director of the company. He has always been fascinated with the growing e-commerce concept in varied sectors. One of the driving forces behind the formation of Jabong.com was Praveen’s sheer passion and interest in the e-retailing sector and its growth potential.

Though the market that he is in is quite fluctuating in itself hence to match up to that mark one needs a break. Sinha is a strong believer of the fact that holidays serve as a break from regular life, one can come back with a different perspective.

In today’s Fox Traveller Diaries, Adgully caught up with Praveen Sinha, Co-founder, Jabong.com to know more about his travel experiences.

Fox Traveller Diaries (FTD): If there is one place you can keep going back to for a holiday, where would it be?

Praveen Sinha (PS): It has be Florence, as it’s a perfect blend of art, history, beauty, fun, food and shopping.

FTD: Tell us three good things about travelling.

PS: It’s exciting and interesting to see new places and meet new people from different parts of the world. Holidays also serve as a break from regular life; one can come back with a different perspective to work and life.

FTD: When you travel, what is a must carry for you?

PS: Passport, universal plug point, mobile connection and currency/forex.

FTD: When and where did your best holiday happen?

PS: My last Holiday was in April 2010 in Istanbul.

FTD: As a traveller, what’s your tip for the others?

PS: One should always travel light. Travelling has become increasingly complex in these times of uncertain international security. It is almost always best to travel light, so that you can avoid unnecessary delays, and get to your destination most efficiently. And, don’t just be ready for surprises, welcome them and enjoy them too!

FTD: A colleague / co-worker from your industry with whom you would like to go on a holiday.

PS: I would like to go out on a holiday with my full team. It would be great fun to be out on a vacation with Jabong family!

FTD: Have you ever been surprised by the taste of food, outside India? Where?

PS: Yes, in Austria. I ordered by sheer gut feel and the dish turned out to be amazingly delicious.

FTD: What and where has been your best bazaar bargain so far?

PS: “Ot noi dai ma?” (Can you make it a little cheap?). Just remember that and Bangkok’s flea markets will flood you with best of products at dirt-cheap prices!

FTD: Which has been the most unique destination that you ever visited? When and why?

PS: Most unique destination has to be Srinagar, not only because of the people, but their cuisine and scenic beauty.

FTD: Tell us how you have managed to make a journey fun.

PS: I travel light and try to enjoy the local setting of the destination. I do not try to pack my day with lot of site visit but limit to few.

FTD: A gourmet gaffe that you would like to share.

PS: Fortunately, I can’t think of any.

FTD: What has been your worst travel moment? Why?

PS: Well, there has been only one till now. During one of my trip, our connecting flight got delayed in Dubai and we had to wait at the airport from 1 AM to 6 AM. Pheww..!!

FTD: What is the best souvenir you ever bought for anyone?

PS: I bought one hand painted clock from Budapest for my in-laws.
