We at Adgully caught up with Nirupam Sahay, President - Lighting India to know more about his travelling experiences.

Following are the excerpts from the interaction:

Fox Travellers Diary (FTD): If there is one place you can keep going back to for a holiday, where would it be?

Nirupam Sahay (NS): I think there are two places- London and Paris.

FTD: Tell us three good things about travelling.

NS: Spending time with family, seeing new places and trying out local cuisines is the best part about travelling.

FTD: When you travel, what is a must carry for you?

NS: I think my family.

FTD: When and where did your best holiday happen?

NS: Trip to Amsterdam and Paris, couple of years ago.

FTD:  As a traveller, what is your tip for the others?

NS: To enjoy your trip safely, you need to be practical. For example: The things which you think you can comfortably do in Delhi, don’t repeat the same in Paris.

FTD: A colleague/co-worker from your industry with whom you would like to go on a holiday?

NS: No one.

FTD: Have you ever been surprised by the taste of food, outside India? Where?

NS: I have tried loads of stuffs, but nothing really surprising.

FTD: What and where has been your best bazaar bargain so far?

NS: I think shopping in London and Thailand.

FTD: Which is the most unique destination that you have ever visited?

NS:  London

FTD: Tell us how you have managed to make a journey fun.

NS: I think by surfing on internet and understanding the places before visiting there.

FTD: A gourmet gaffe that you would like to share.

NS: Nothing really happened.

FTD: What has been your worst travel moment? Why?

NS: None yet

FTD: What is the best souvenir you have ever bought for anyone?

NS: For my wife, a piece of jewellery.

Prior to joining Philips, Sahay held key positions at GE Capital, Whirlpool, Reliance Infocomm and Asian Paints.
