TV this week: Bigg Boss becomes "big loser' for Colors, Sony regains No.2 position

TAM 2011 has seen quite a few changes this week. After a successful start on the charts, Bigg Boss has been unable to maintain its position in its second week; resulting in a sizable loss of GRP's for Colors. Colors, losing 37 GRP's has slipped to the No. 3 spot, recording 218 GRP in 42nd week of TAM. On the other hand, adding a minor number of 9 GRP's, Sony Entertainment Television has regained the No. 2 position within a week, recording 257 GRP's.

Star Plus continues to rule the charts as India's No. 1 Hindi general entertainment channel. Though this week it has been unable to retain its viewers, with a loss of 12 GRP's, Star Plus has recorded 292 GRP this week.

There is no respite for Zee TV as it continues to lose GRPs in this week as well. The channel has recorded 139 GRPs this week and stays on the No.4 spot.

At No.4 and No. 5 are SAB and Imagine TV recording 123 and 64 GRP's respectively. Towards the tail end are Star One with 34 RP and Sahara One with 30 GRP.

The top 5 programs for this week have also seen a few changes than the usual. While Kaun Banega Crorepati continues to boost Sony's GRP, its crime shows have helped it regain its No.2 position. Both, CID and Crime Patrol have made their way to the top 5 program list, pushing their newly poplar show Bade Achhe Lagte Hai down the top 5 chart.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya tops the list recording 6.21 TVR, followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati with 5.36 TVR. Balika Badhu with a 4.9 TVR comes third on the list, followed by Crime Patrol recording 4.27 TVR and CID recording 3.96 TVR, completing the list. | By Ankita Tanna [ankita(at)adgully.com]
