TV This Week | Colors back to no. 3 position, Star Plus steady at top spot

This week’s TAM’s ratings have shuffled the GEC charts as Colors bounces back to the third spot replacing Life OK. 

Star Plus is still No.1 followed by Zee TV. Slipping one position is down, is Life OK at the 4th position followed by Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV.

A look at the numbers shows that this week all the channels – Star Plus, Zee TV, Life OK, SET and SAB TV have registered a decline in viewership, while Colors emerges as the only channel to register growth in viewership.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 28, 2014 (6th July- 12th July) for CS 4+, HSM markets, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 28 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Though topping the list, Star Plus showed decline in viewership having recorded 673330 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 703493 million GVTs recorded last week.

Zee TV at 2nd position too showed decline in viewership of 424522 million GVTs as against 479080.

Colors climbing the ladder one step up to the third position recorded growth in viewership with 342279 million GVT’s against320019 last week.

Life OK at No.4 recorded 324996 compared to 347760 last week.

Whereas, SET viewership registered decline of 279384 million GVTs as against 28770  in the last week.

SAB TV’s viewership too showed decline 248304 million GVTs against 275947 million GVTs last week.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 28 2014:

Sony Max registered decline of 168112 GVTs against recorded 199836 last week; Z Cinema showed growth in viewership of 188384 GVT’s as against 186879 GVTs last week.

&pictures viewership decreased this week too and recorded 80612 GVT’s as 82663 GVTs last week; UTV Movies recorded growth of 81683 GVT’s as compare to 73080 GVTs last week. Star Gold showed decline even this week 169288 GVT’s as compare to 180145 GVTs last week, Movies OK showed growth of 134134 GVT’s as compare to 125531 GVT’s last week. Sony Max2 registered an increase this week as well by recording 32613 GVT’s as compare to 26495 GVTs last week.
