TV this week: Colors bounces back to #2

This week Zee TV lost 35 million TVTs and subsequently slipped to no.3 thus facilitating Colors to bounce back to 2nd position despite no change in the latter’s score which remains same as last week. Sony witnessing a huge downslide and lost 50 million TVTs but has managed to retain its 5th position in the Hindi GEC chart. Meanwhile Star Plus, Life OK and SAB TV picked up viewership and have added 15 million, 14 million and 26 million TVTs respectively to their scores and strengthened their positions and Star Plus the numero uno of the Hindi GEC’s has once again crossed the 700 million mark as per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 14, 2014 (March 30 – April 5) for CS 4+, HSM markets. 

Detailed below is the data of the GEC’s ratings for this week (previous week’s figures in the brackets):

Star Plus at the top of the GEC chart witnessed an increase in viewership this week to record 702324 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 686602 million GVTs recorded last week.

Colors, sees no change in its ratings this week and has recorded 454335 million GVTs same as last week’s 454237 million GVTs. The channel has bounced back to 2nd spot.

Zee TV witnessed a steep decline this week and recorded 425698 million GVTs (461300 million) and dropped to 3rd spot.

Life OK ratings have been climbing steadily. With increased viewership in week 14 the channel has recorded 384524 million GVTs (371427 million). The channel continues to be at no. 4 

Sony Entertainment Television ratings tumbled as the channels viewership dipped to record 312298 million GVTs (362061 million).  The channel has retained its no.5 position

SAB TV ratings registered a slight improvement this week as it added 26 million TVTs and recorded a score of 298753 million GVTs (272972 million) but remains at no. 6   this week

Sahara One ratings dipped even further to record 30030 million GVTs (33173 million) in week 14, 2014.

Enlisted below is the market-wise programme performance of movie channels for week 14, 2014:

Zee Cinema recorded a marginal increase in viewership with 206,220 GVTs (193,809), Star Gold lost viewership and recorded 182,742 GVTs (203,945). Ratings of Movies OK too registered a drop and recorded 132,209 GVTs (135,163). Movie channel &pictures ratings this week saw an improvement and garnered 85,778 GVTs (80,472). Z Anmol ratings improved this week and registered 69,664 GVTs (67,809).  Sony Max ratings witnessed a huge slump this week as it recorded 169,834 GVTs (182,301) as per data recorded for movie channels in week 14 of TAM 2014.
