TV This Week | Hindi GEC's grow while Hindi Movie channels slip number charts

While this week’s TAM ratings spelled good for Hindi GEC’s, the movie channels from the genre had a different tune to sing as they did not perform too well. Week 32 TAM ratings showed growth for Hindi GEC’s, while decline for Hindi movie channels.

Star Plus led the chart followed by Zee TV at No.2; as Colors continues to be at No.3, Life OK came in at the 4th position followed by Sony Entertainment Television and SAB TV. All the Hindi GEC's showed positive growth except Zee TV.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 32, 2014 (3rd August - 9th August) for CS 4+, HSM MARKETS, detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 32 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

Witnessing growth in viewership this week, Star Plus at No.1 position has recorded 711648 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 676578 million GVTs recorded last week.

At the second spot, Zee TV showed no growth in viewership and received 414540 million GVTs as against 438207.

Retaining its No.3 position, Colors showed growth in viewership with 403053 million GVTs as compared to 375025 last week.

Life OK, at No.4 position also showed growth with 311640 million GVT’s against 311423 last week.

Showing growth, SET recorded a viewership of 278432 million GVTs as against 275107 in the last week.

SAB TV gained viewership of 277018 million GVTs against 265377 million GVTs last week at the 6th position.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 32 2014:
Though maintaining its leader position in the genre, Star GOLD registered decline in viewership 224511 GVT’s against recorded 242494 last week. Z Cinema at No. 2 position also faced decline with 190848 GVTs as against 20066 GVT's last week. Sony Max at No.3 recorded 182959 GVT's showing decline as compared to 240632 GVT's last week. Movies OK at No.4 position showed growth with 157444 GVT's compared to 155428 GVT's last week. & Pictures is at No.5 with 84042 showed decline as compared to 125356 GVT's last week followed by UTV Movies with 67865 GVT's as compare to 82579 GVT's in week 31. Sony Max2 showed slight growth of 44709 GVT's as compared to 33334 GVT's last week.
