TV This Week | Life OK climbs up to 4th spot, SET slips down!

TAM rating of week 36 in many ways, continue to shuffle the rankings of Hindi GEC’s and movie channels alike. While Star Plus, Colors, Life OK and SAB TV were on the growth side, other in the genre showed decline in viewership.

As per the overall ratings, Star Plus is at No. 1 position, followed by Zee TV at No.2. Colors continues to be at No.3, followed by Life OK bouncing back at No.4. SAB TV at No.5 and Sony Entertainment Television slips to the 6th spot.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for week 36, 2014 (31st Aug - 6th Sep) for CS 4+, HSM Markets detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 36 along with previous week’s figures in the brackets:

According to this week’s TAM data, Star Plus showed growth in viewership and recorded 591045 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 561897 million GVTs recorded last week.

Seated at the second position, Zee TV showed decline in viewership even this week and recorded 451717 million GVTs as against 462476 last week.

Retaining its 3rd spot, Colors showed growth in viewership of 399182 million GVTs as compared to 388017 last week.

Registering growth, Life OK climbed up the leader-board at is seated at No. 4 position with increase in viewership of 326081 GVTs as against 266952 in the last week.

SAB TV too showed growth of 287945 million GVTs against 281456 million GVTs last week at the 5th position.

However, SET slipped down to No. 6 position and showed decline of 286594 million GVT’s against 317093 last week.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in week 36 2014:

In week 36, Star Gold showed decline in viewership but still remained at No. 1 position with  GVT's 223356 as against 261688 GVT's last week followed by Sony Max at No. 2 which showed growth in viewership of 208012 GVT’s against recorded 194873 GVT's last week. Z Cinema at No.3 too recorded growth this week with 206633 GVT's as compared to 178360 GVT's last week. Movies OK at No.4 showed growth this week of 146300 GVT's compared to 145663 GVT's last week. & Pictures  at No.5 showed growth of 84133 as compared to 76195 GVT's last week followed by UTV Movies with decrease in viewership of 71610 GVT's as compare to 74942 GVT's last week. Sony Max2 showed growth this week in compare to last weeks as received 44135 GVT's as compared to 38794 GVT's.
