TV This Week | Star Plus, Colors & Zindagi on the winning side

This week’s TAM ratings showed good results for few Hindi GEC’s and movie channels as compared to last week’s ratings. Star Plus, Zindagi and Colors were the ones on the winning side, while others haven’t seen much change. Star Gold was the only Hindi movie channel who grew in terms of viewership.

Star Plus is at number 1 and still tops the chart followed by Zee TV at No.2; Colors continues to be at No.3, followed by SET at No.4, SAB TV at No.5 and Life OK at No.6 position.

As per viewership data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 35, 2014 (24th Aug - 30th Aug)for CS 4+, HSM Markets detailed below is the data of the top 6 GEC’s performance in week 35 along with previous week’s figures enlisted in the brackets:

According to this week’s TAM data, Star Plus showed growth in viewership and recorded 561897 million GVTs (gross TV viewership in million) as against 559230 million GVTs recorded last week.

Zee TV at No. 2 showed decline in viewership and recorded 462476 million GVTs as against 464660 last week.

Colors, at No. 3 showed increased viewership with 388017 million GVTs as compared to 376579 last week.

Whereas, SET at No. 4 place showed decline in viewership of 317093 GVTs as against 366282 in the last week.

SAB TV too showed decline of 281456 million GVTs against 287686 million GVTs last week at the 5th position.

Life OK at No. 6 showed decline this week too with 266952 million GVT’s against 287861 last week.

Following is the market-wise program performance of Hindi Movie channels in Week 35 2014:
This week Star Gold is at No. 1 position with  261688 GVT's as against 220122 GVT's last week followed by Sony Max at No. 2 showed decline in  viewership of 194873 GVT’s against recorded 235830 GVT's last week. Z Cinema at No.3 recorded decline even this week too with 178360 GVT's as compared to 194075 GVT's last week. Movies OK at No.4 showed downfall of 145663 GVT's compared to 175476 GVT's last week. & Pictures  at No.5 showed decline of 76195 as compared to 114191 GVT's last week followed by UTV Movies with decrease in viewership of 74942 GVT's as compare to 80927 GVT's last week. Sony Max2 showed decline even this week too in compare to last weeks as received 38794 GVT's as compared to 39445 GVT's.
