TV this week: Star Plus leads the race; Zee TV follows at #2

Hindi GECs have seen an increase in ratings in Week 3 of TAM 2013 with various events and five new launches that contributed to a growth visible across  all genres. As per viewership data for period January 13 to January 19 , 2013 sourced from TAM subscibers for the CS 4+, HSM markets Star Plus is once again at no.1 position followed by Zee TV in the second position and Colors is now at No. 3 due to a loss of 35 GRPs in week 3.

Star Plus has garnered 241 GRPs in week 3 and has held on to last weeks rating points thus leading the channel to be once again in the no.1 position. With a growth of 19 GRPs  Zee TV has garnered 215 GRPs as against last week’s 196 GRPs and  presently in the second position. Colors has slipped in week 3 to reach the 3rd position due to a loss of 35 GRPs thus recording 210 GRPs this week (last week 245). Sony Entertainment Television lost 8 points this week and hence garnered 187 GRPs as against last week’s 195 GRPs and thus bringing the channel to the no. 4 position . A slight dip has been seen in SAB TV GRPs in week 3. The channel has recorded 146 GRPs as against last week’s 150 GRPs. On the back of   ’Mahadev Special’ aired on Sunday channel Life OK saw an increase of 11 points and have garnered 128 GRPs in week 3. Last week they had recorded 117 GRPs. The special episode  rated 3.6 TVR.

As far as rating points for shows on GECs is concerned three shows Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus, Balika Vadhu on Colors and  Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah on SAB TV share the no.1 position with an average of 4.4 TVR in week 3. Zee TV’s Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke climbing steadily has registered an average of 4.0 TVR. Colors Screen Awards aired for over four hours on 19th January 2013 has rated 3.9 TVR.  Several new shows were launched beginning 14th January 2013 . Among them Colors new offerings ‘Sanskar’ opened at 1.7 TVR and ‘Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha opened at 2.3 TVR respectively. ‘Amit Ka Amit on Sony opened at 1.1 TVR and SAB TV’s new launches ‘Hum Aapke Hain In-laws and ‘Tota Weds Maina opened at 1.4 TVR and 1.1 TVR respectively.
