TV9 Bharatvarsh continues to grow handsomely for seven weeks in a row

After its sustained leadership for 13 weeks post ratings resumption, the Hindi News channel from TV9 Network observed a dramatic fall in BARC rolled viewership data. If last few weeks data trajectory is any indication, TV9 Bharatvarsh now looks all set to regain the top slot

TV9 Bharatvarsh scripted history in March this year when it displaced a legacy leader of 22 years to take the top slot. It sustained its leadership for 13 weeks setting a new benchmark post the resumption of ratings earlier this year.

After 13 weeks of unchallenged No. 1 status, the channel witnessed a dramatic continuous fall over few weeks while its market share fell from over 17 per cent to 9 percent among Top 14 National Hindi News Channels.

People familiar with developments said with the interest in the Ukraine war waning, viewer interest flagged. The fall, according to sources, was also caused due to the editorial leadership at the channel being in a flight mode.

The channel, however, has bounced back with a bang. It has achieved an upward growth sustaining an increase in its ratings over the last seven weeks in a row.

According to the latest BARC data, TV9 Bharatvarsh has secured the fourth slot as per ratings for week 34’ 22. The channel has registered a sustained growth beginning week 28’ 22.

TV9 Bharatvarsh has, in the recent months, proved once again that the brand is the king. The channel has consistently provided superior programs across the news genre that have kept the audiences glued to the screens. The programming line-up gets a leg up with the channel's classy packaging.

According to reliable sources, the channel is primed to beef up its manpower given its ability to attract top talent from the industry. Sources added that an editorial plan has been put in place to further grow the ratings. The channel leadership aspires to secure the top slot having slipped a while in between.
