Twitter announces new updates to battle misinformation

Twitter has announced the implementation of several product, policy and enforcement updates that have been drawn from global and Indian elections for the assembly elections of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and West Bengal. 

A global cross-functional team with local, language and cultural expertise will run it's election integrity and make sure the service is safe from attempts of manipulations on the platform and the content that can trigger violence and abuse. 

The microblogging giant said in a blog post that will delete any post that manipulates and spreads misinformation regarding the elections. Twitter has said it has deployed tools to detect and identify abusive content and posts that are most likely to cause harm are reviewed first by a specialised team.
