Twitter appoints resident grievance officer for India

Twitter has appointed Vinay Prakash as its resident grievance officer for India, meeting the requirements of Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

On Sunday, Twitter posted the name of the company’s website and procedure to be followed by users who want to get in touch with him. The company has also disclosed a postal address in Bengaluru as mandated by the new rules.

Jeremy Kessel, the company’s senior director of global legal policy, who is based in San Francisco is also listed as the grievance officer for India.

In a submission to Delhi High Court on Thursday, Twitter had committed to appoint a resident grievance officer, who will be a third party contractor, on or before 11 July.
