Uninor launches "We Love Uninor' campaign recharged by 4 crore customers' support

Uninor has delivered a strong message on the scale of its operations, its impact on making mobile telephony affordable for the mass market and its intention to remain committed to India. The "We Love Uninor" campaign has been launched in the media and will soon be rolled out in each Uninor circle as a large scale ground activity.

The print campaign shows how 4 crore customers have chosen Uninor as their preferred mobile service provider in less than 3 years. The new television commercial that is currently running on 72 mainline and regional TV channels focuses on Uninor's one simple message - Pay less Talk more. The new TVC is targeted towards youth who are value driven and who are always on the look-out for the best deal. With Uninor, there is no need for frequent recharges because your talk time lasts longer.

Since the launch of its services, Uninor has competed successfully in all its commercial circles, adding more subscriber than any other mobile operator in India in 2011. In the 13 circles where Uninor operates it has added around 17.8 million customers last year, more than any operator in India. In doing so, Uninor has ensured that a mobile phone service is affordable for everyone. In Mumbai, 4.3 lakh customers chose Uninor last year, more than many established operators in the state.

"Even if you are not a Uninor customer today, you have benefitted from us. Because of new competition from us and others, every operator has been forced to make tariffs affordable. Customers in Delhi, where there is no new competition, pay 60% more than customers in any other city. However, if new competition is asked to leave the market, India should be prepared for the same high tariffs as Delhi has today." Sigve Brekke, MD Uninor observed.

The recent developments have energized Uninor like never before. Over the past few days, thousands of Uninor employees have stormed the market, registering their presence and assuring retailers and customers that Uninor services are continuing.

"I am proud of the way our employees, our trade partners and our customers have responded over the past few days. An entire organization is now out in the market, extremely motivated to register Uninor's presence"

In conclusion, he said, "Let there be no doubt. We did not come to India to give up. We trust that the new solution found by the Indian Government will be such that new competition stays in the market. Competition benefits customers and the customers' benefit has to be the first priority"
