Usha Rachael Thomas quits as ZEEL’s Communications Head

Usha Rachael Thomas, Head of Public Relations, ZEE’s Hindi GEC, Cinema, Premium & FTA Clusters, has put in her papers. A source close to the development has confirmed the news to Adgully. Thomas has joined Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) in 2010. 

At ZEEL, Thomas had designed #ZeeForAll, a pioneering initiative in the Indian broadcast where, ZEEL became the first broadcaster to include audio description and subtitles in films aired on television to enable the visually and hearing impaired audiences. This initiative saw light of day during the airing of blockbuster movie ‘Dangal’ on Independence Day this year. 

Prior to ZEEL, Thomas had worked as a consultant with CMGC India for a year. From 2007 to 2010, she had headed Public Relations for Star Plus, Star Jalsha and Star Pravah. 

She had also spent years writing as a consultant with the Times Group, Mid-Day, FPJ and was Sub Editor, Lifestyle & TV Correspondent at Indiantelevision.com. She was Head of TV page Couch Potato at DNA After Hrs. She had also worked as an Assistant Editor & Head of TV pages at HT Cafe.
