Utopeia to 'bring back the love to advertising'

With a clear motive to ‘bring back the love’ to advertising days  with all  that inspires, questions, thinks, works and sells, Utopeia, a new independent agency has forayed into the advertising space. With  no baggage to do things in a particular way or rigid processes to follow, the focus will always remain on the results promises Utopeia. Often this result is a function of a single driving emotion in consumers viz. love. The agency's slogan 'Bring back the love' reflects its intent of bringing back the love for brands, love for agency from clients, and love for agency from its employees. According to them, all three are diminishing and they want to revive it with Utopeia.

Adgully caught up with Sudarshan Banerjee, Founding Member (Managing Partner), Utopeia, to know more about the agency and their plans ahead.

He says, “The entire idea started around the fact that we have seen the advertising space since ages. We are aware of its strengths and weaknesses. It was observed that there are many gaps in the advertising space and so with a clear thought of improving and bridging the gaps we launched an agency which is not an advertising agency as such because advertising is not the solution to all marketing problems.”

The managing team comprises of all specialists and veterans from different fields such as creative, strategy, training, digital solutions and experiential media; Ayan Chakraborty, ex CGO Percept; Sudarshan Banerjee, ex EVP & Head Ignite Mudra, Head Business Development, DDB Mudra Group; Sean Colaco, ex Co-founder CAC, ECD TBWA, Saatchi, Mudra; Mitali Srivastava, ex AVP DDB Mudra, Lead planner on Volkswagen & Johnson n Johnson; Krishna Padhye, ex Sr. Creative Director DDB Mudra; and Krishnaraj Bhat, ex Head of Planning Mudra Ahmedabad are the 6 Managing Partners of Utopeia Communicationz Private Limited.

When asked about the strategies that always work in this space, Sudarshan said that today advertising is not just a 30 second TV commercial or a single full page print ad. One has to think out-of-the-box and as mentioned earlier advertising needs business solutions and not just advertising solutions and lastly your employees should love the place they are working in before they love the work they do for the brands.”

The 45 days old agency, Utopeia, as of now has clients like Baskin and Robins, Nutrella, Axis bank, Home collection and Times Of India in their kitty.

With such clear aims Utopeia is all set to buzz the market with their new ideas and strategies and we at Adgully wish them all the success in their new endeavour.
