UTV announces its next film 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'

UTV Motion Pictures, committed to push the envelope with concept driven films todaya nnounced its next production ‘Satra Ko Shaadi Hai’ together with J A Entertainment and Rising Sun Films to bring to the audiences a fun and entertaining film revolving around Indian shaadis. The film will introduce young new talent not only in front of the camera but also behind it with debutant director Arshad Syed and starring Barun Sobti and Sapna Pabbi as leads.

With an ensemble cast of over 50 actors and based in the heartland of India -Bhopal, ‘Satra ko Shaadi hai’ promises to bring out the flavor of real Indian weddings on the big screen.  The film will capture all the elements including inflated egos, juggling budgets, rooftop romances, messed up arrangements, generation gaps, confused ceremonies, last minute emergencies, chaos, cacophony and also the fun, frolic, festivities galore, dance, music, family bonding and emotions that are an integral part of any Indian wedding.

The film revolves around Naresh Sinhal, a suitable IT boy from Mumbai who connects with Suneha Garg, a pretty girl from Bhopal on a matrimonial website. Within days they get engaged under the watchful eyes of their parents and the date is set for the wedding -the  17th March in Bhopal...wedding cards are printed, and sent to relatives and friends across the country and each of them descend down on the city of Bhopal with their own secret plans and petty agendas.
With the wedding just 6 days away, the countdown begins, and soon enough every function turns into a battle between the two sets of in-laws and the extended families.
Naresh and Suneha who thought there's was a match made in heaven like the family Pandit had said, had no idea that even after matching their 36 gunns the wedding was actually at the mercy of a bunch of 40 quirky relatives down on earth.
Will their fears come true? Will the family reconcile their differences and see the bigger picture? 17 ko shaadi hai is a comedy about the big fat indian wedding! Kya Satra ko Shaadi Hogi ke nahin??....Wait and watch.
The film is slated for release in 2015.
