Vijay Parasuraman to take charge as Coca-Cola India Marketing Head

Vijay Parasuraman will be the new Vice-President - Marketing at Coca-Cola India. He will succeed Debabrata Mukherjee, who will be taking on the new role of Vice-President – South West Asia (SWA). Parasuraman is joining back from China, where he has been General Manager, Sparkling Brands. He had joined the HCCB in 2001 and has held multiple assignments in the marketing department. 

Mukherjee has headed the Marketing function for four years. He started his career in the operations, and has done stints in marketing both in India and abroad and has led the strategy for the business. His going back to the general management operations role is with the aim of catapulting the South West Asia businesses to a significant growth these markets have shown tremendous potential in the past few years. 

Meanwhile, Sundeep Bajoria has joined as Vice-President – Strategy & Insights for the India and South West Asia BU. He brings a successful track record of over 19 years within and outside the Coca-Cola system in strategy, commercial finance and financial analysis & insights. He came back to India from Global Finance team based in Dubai. 

Asim Parekh, Head of Strategy and Insights, has taken up the responsibility to build and lead the new Fruit and Agriculture Circular Economy initiatives of the company. 

Shehnaz Gill assumed his new role as Head of Operations for India in the first week of June. His appointment was announced earlier this year. Gill re-joined Coca-Cola India system after serving as Vice President and General Manager, Upstate New York and Pennsylvania for Coca-Cola Refreshments. He started his career about 13 years back with HCCB. This move is seen in the light of the company getting ready for an integrated national market as a result of the GST. 

Sumanta Datta, Vice-President – South West Asia (SWA), has decided to pursue his career outside of the company. His 22-year career spans sales operations and marketing both in India and abroad. 

These changes are all set to execute the business growth plan in the region under the leadership of T Krishna Kumar, who took over as the Business Unit President for India and South West Asia.
