VMLY&R spreads some cheesy cheer this Mother’s Day with the Mum-E-Cards

 Global brand experience agency VMLY&R has launched a Mother’s Day initiative to help people the world over connect and show their love this Mother’s Day.

 Mother’s Day, like many other celebrations that have taken place this year, will differ from previous years. For those who don’t live with their mums, visiting is difficult, and the safest thing you can do for those you love is to keep your distance. We’ll miss out on the usual family lunches and exchanging of gifts. And though you can’t be there to physically hug your mum, VMLY&R Singapore didn’t want you to miss out on the cheesy greeting card experience.

 To brighten the day for mums around the world, the team at VMLY&R Singapore has designed several video call backdrops that draw inspiration from mother’s day cards with a COVID twist, featuring tongue in cheek quotes about spending the special day apart, including “I love you so much, I don’t want to see you in person,” and “You survived my teen years, so I know you can survive this.”

 “We wanted to remind people that they can still celebrate and have some laughs with their mums, even if they can’t be together this Mother’s Day,” said Guy Futcher, Executive Creative Director, VMLY&R Singapore. “In times like this, staying connected, while apart is a lifeline, and while many people struggle in social isolation, we felt it was important to bring a little bit of normality and light-hearted fun into our mum’s lives, as a way to show that we care.”
