Vodafone partners Voot for India’s first digital survival show

Vodafone India, one of India’s leading telecommunications services provider, has partnered with one of India’s leading Video-on-Demand streaming service VOOT for their latest original - Vodafone presents ‘Stupid Man, Smart Phone’, powered by Motorola. The survival show is an Indian adaptation of BBC’s award winning format and is streaming now exclusively on VOOT.

Imagine being left alone in a difficult terrain like a dense forest, the blazing desert and remote mountains, with nothing but just the network on your phoneto overcome the challenges facing you! As being perpetually connected has become an essential part of our lives, Vodafone is turning this behavior into an irreplaceable need for the contestants of the show Vodafone presents ‘Stupid Man, Smart Phone’. Participants will be given a task which they will have to achieve with the help of the Vodafone network - on which they could use apps to locate their destination and find directions, make video calls to experts, and even crowd source information on social media from their friends and acquaintances. The show will test their dependence on technology as they set out to complete specific assigned tasks.

The show is hosted by India’s biggest digital superstar Sumeet Vyas, who teams up with the vibrant Evelyn Sharma in the lush rainforests of South India. In the harsh Rajasthan desert, sun beats down upon YouTube funny man Sahil Khattar who is Sumit’s partner. And TV heartthrob Karan Kundra keeps Sumeet company in the untouched mountains of Arunachal Pradesh. To survive and complete the tasks at hand, all of them are armed only with a smart phone, a data strong network!
