Vogue Beauty Awards 2011: Madhuri Dixit Nene honoured with Bollywood's Beauty Legend Award

On a glittering night, Vogue awarded the best in the beauty and wellness industry at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2011 at the Taj Lands End. In its second edition the Vogue Beauty Awards honours the best beauty products, services and professionals across 54 categories ranging from skin care, anti-ageing, make-up, fragrances, hair and many more.

A unique feature of the Vogue Beauty Awards 2011 is the introduction of the "People' categories. The awards honour industry professionals who have achieved excellence in their respective fields within the beauty space. Within this, there is a segment recognising the most beautiful of Bollywood's past, present and future.

The evening began with the cover star of the August issue, Madhuri Dixit Nene being honoured with Bollywood's Beauty Legend Award, followed by actor Anushka Sharma for Fresh Face. The night ended on a high note with the Global Beauty Icon award being given to none other than Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Bollywood's Most Beautiful Man to Ranbir Kapoor. Other beauty awards were given to Dr. Rohini Wadhwani for Best Facialist, Ambika Pillai for Best Makeup artist, Nisha Zaveri received the award for Myra being the Best Day Spa, Best Hair Stylist to Avan Contractor b:blunt and Best Coloursit to Kanta Motwani, Kromakay.

Three months prior to the ceremony, over 750 products were personally tested and judged by an expert jury comprising Mickey Contractor, Adhuna Akhtar, Dia Mirza, Dr Malvika Kohli, Gayatri Oberoi, Simone Singh, Natasha Poonawalla, Priya Tanna and Geeta Rao of Vogue India.

In all, Mumbai's glitterati attended the Vogue Beauty Awards 2011 in abundance with Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Gayatri Oberoi, Tisca Chopra, Shradha Kapoor walking the red carpet. Also seen at the event were models Kamal Sidhu, Feroz Gujral, Esha Gupta and the city's crème-de-la-crème like Queenie Singh, Anju Taraporewala, Anju Chulani, Ambika Pillai, Gaurav Bhatia, Nisha Zaveri, Rohan Vairani along with the presence of the esteemed panel of judges who facilitated the winners at the ceremony.
