Volleyball Federation of India partners with Elite Sports India

India gears up for the most elite and important national tournament in Volleyball. The 71st Senior National Volleyball Tournament will be held in Guwahati, Assam from 2nd – 9th February’23. Indian Volleyball had slowly begun to dip since the early 2000s. However, the Volleyball Federation of India chalked out a well-planned roadmap that has turned the waves in its favour.

One of the major reasons for the decline has been zero access to watch volleyball games in India. VFI (Volleyball Federation of India) hit the bull’s eye when it joined hands with Elite Sports India and decided to tackle this problem from its roots. Elite Sports India one of the major sports giants in the country has been the official broadcaster of all Senior Nationals, Federation cups, Junior Nationals, and various other Volleyball games organized by the VFI. This has taken the game of volleyball to every household in the country. Right from Kerala, the nursery of Volleyball in India to the North, the Indian Volleyball ecosystem has grown. The constant efforts from India’s frontline broadcaster ESI have helped the federation reach new heights.

Top talents right from the university level to the national and international levels have been tracked over the last few years. Once again, this year Elite Sports India has been granted the official rights to broadcast this top-tier national tournament which will be available to every household on the ESIlive YouTube handle. “Volleyball has been one of our top priorities as a sport in India. When we began, we knew we didn’t have many viewers and the journey is going to be long. But we believed we could make this work and here we are today” says Sunny Bhandarkar (CEO Elite Sports India). “Mr. Ram Avatar Singh Jakhar (CEO, VFI) & Prof Achyuta Samantha (President, VFI) have also been very supportive towards our association which has helped us push this sport to a larger audience” added Mr. Sunny Bhandarkar.

Senior Indian team players & the new breed of young volleyball champs will all go guns blazing as they bring the storm while fighting for the ariel volleys. The teams have already started their preps and set their eyes on the prize while fans can’t wait to see their favourite player’s spike! The live-action to all games will begin on the ESILive YouTube handle from 2nd February’23. To keep up with match schedules, more information can be found on the Elite Sports India social channels. The biggest Volleyball battleground is alive and active!
