Voylla ropes in Retail experts for key leadership roles; goes aggressive on expansion

Voylla Fashions Pvt Ltd today announced its plans to bring on board more than 300 people across divisions along with key appointments of industry stalwarts- Tapan Roychoudhury as Head of Offline Channels and Prashant Sharma as Head of Finance.

Tapan Roychoudhury who will Head the Offline Channels comes with an experience of over 20 years with reputed Retail Organizations such as Fab India and Sahara across Gulf and India. Also joining the board will be Prashant Sharma who comes with over 15 years of rich experience in entire gamut of Finance and Commercial domain and will be joining company as the Head of Finance. His last assignment was with Bata Zambia as Finance Director. Prior to that, Prashant headed Retail and Non- Retail Finance functions with Bata India Limited based at Gurgaon and was a key member of leadership team.

With the current expansion phase, the Jaipur based eCommerce player is aggressively looking at hiring talent for Retail, Tech, Manufacturing, Marketing and Merchandising. It already constitutes a highly talented employee base of 180 employees that includes graduates from premier institutes including IITs, IIMs, NIT, NIFTs. By end of next year, Voylla will be looking at hiring 75 fresh graduates from these and other reputed institutes.

Vishwas further added, “Since the beginning we try to create a conducive environment for our employees see our employees happy and motivated.” Voylla has a flat hierarchy structure instead of a tall hierarchy, therefore, focusing on empowerment of employees and giving them more autonomy rather than adhering to the chain of command. Voylla doesn’t compromise on choosing its team wisely.

Voylla has already created a niche in the country’s most fragmented fashion jewellery market and with its focus on omni- channel model it plans to become the category leader. Over the next 2 years the company will be bringing on board more than 100 employees – via direct and indirect engagement at Voylla stores that are expected to achieve a target of 400% YoY growth in next 2 years.

The start-up raised funding of 15 million USD from private equity firm, Peepul Capital last month. At present, the organization has more than 180 employees. Voylla is in partnership with top market places such as Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Jabong, Yepme, and Voonik on e-commerce. The company has an offline presence in Pune, Bengaluru and Nagpur via shop-in-shop format Central Mall.
