After serving for a period of 12 years in the beverage brand, Indra Nooyi has stepped down as CEO of PepsiCo. She will be succeeded by Ramon Laguarta, who was chosen in a unanimous decision by the Board of Directors. Nooyi will officially hand over the reins on October 3, 2018. 

Star Gold seeing growth on back of Bollywood premieres: Hemal Jhaveri
With 4,733 million GVTs (or Impressions) in 2018 [Weekly average, 2+, HSM U+R], the Hindi movies genre has grown from strength to strength from an average growth of 4,163 million GVTs (or Impressions) in 2017. 

Among the Hindi movie channels, Star Gold has delivered the biggest Bollywood premieres in the last year, with 7 out of top 10 Bollywood Premieres aired within the genre being showcased on Star Gold.

Mitrajit Bhattacharya, President & Publisher Chitralekha Group, moves on
Mitrajit Bhattacharya, who has been with the Chitralekha Group since January 2001, has decided to move on to pursue his entrepreneurial interests. He had joined the group as Vice President Ad Sales and soon took over as the President and Publisher in early 2005. 

Sandeep Gurumurthi moves on from ET NOW, Nikunj Dalmia elevated as Managing Editor
Times Network today announced the elevation of Nikunj Dalmia to Managing Editor, ET Now. Nikunj will succeed Sandeep Gurumurthi, who announced his decision to move on from his current responsibilities.

DB Corp Limited has announced that its flagship Hindi newspaper DainikBhaskar has emerged as the No. 2 newspaper in Bihar. Hansa Research Group undertook a commissioned readership research in Bihar to gauge the readership of various Hindi newspapers, their readership profile, key product consumptions, reader’s engagement and brand satisfaction. 

Isobar expands Shamsuddin Jasani’s role to Group MD for South Asia
Isobar, the digital agency from Dentsu Aegis Network, has elevated Shamsuddin Jasani (Shams), erstwhile Managing Director (MD), Isobar India to the expanded role of Group MD Isobar - South Asia. As part of his new role, Shams will be responsible for the Isobar portfolio across the South Asia region. In addition, he will also continue as the executive sponsor for AMNET India operations and will continue to report to Ashish Bhasin, Chairman and CEO South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network. 

NDTV reports its first profitable Q1 since 2014 with PAT of Rs 0.9 cr
New Delhi Television Limited has reported its first profitable Q1 since 2014. The media group has reported a standalone Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 0.9 crore in Q1 FY2019, compared to a loss of Rs 16 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. NDTV shows a PAT turnaround of Rs 17 crore YoY (over the same period last year). The earnings before depreciation, interest and taxes stand at Rs 7.5 crore versus a loss of Rs 8.8 crore last year. 

BARC Wk 31: Star Utsav trumps Zee Anmol, Zee TV to claim No.1 spot
BARC ratings for Week 31 (July 28 - August 3) [HSM (U+R): NCCS All : 2+ Individuals] had quite a few surprises in store. Hindi GECs in Rural+Urban have a new leader. After seeing steady gains for the past few weeks Star Utsav finally claimed the numerouno spot, beating the likes of Zee TV and overtaking Zee Anmol. On the other hand, after being in the No. 1 spot for several months, Zee Anmol slipped to the third spot this week. 

IPL value soars by 19% to $6.3 bn in 2018: Duff & Phelps report
The overall value of the IPL ecosystem increased from US$5.3 billion in 2017 to US$6.3 billion in 2018, supportedby the broadcasting rights fee surging at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.9 per cent. This was revealed in the findings of the fifth edition of Duff & Phelps’ annual study of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
