The Madras High Court had set aside their judgment on the discount cap when Star India had filed a plea challenging the authority of the regulator. With broadcasters offering up to 55% discounts on their bouquet offerings TRAI had put forward the 15% discount to cap the bouquet pricing. However, now that the SC has dismissed the petition broadcasters will no longer have to change their bouquet pricing. 

Post evaluation, SPNI decides to shut down 3 premium HD channels
Sony Pictures Networks India has announced that three of their premium HD channels – Sony Le Plex HD, Sony Rox HD, Sony Ten Golf HD – have been removed from DTH service providers and cable TV platforms effective immediately. The reason the broadcaster cited for the removal of these channels was that they had niche and dispersed viewership.
